A critical component of our success is our installers. Each installer must pass through an extremely rigorous in-house training program augmented by a union apprenticeship program.

The Chicago Flooring Installers Union has a 4 year-long apprenticeship program that includes both classroom and jobsite training. This apprenticeship also includes OSHA and other safety training to ensure the well-being of all those working at jobsites. With over 6,000 hours of comprehensive education, union members are skilled laborers we are proud to have working for us.

Even still, in order to become a master mechanic at Mr. David's, an installer must successfully pass our 10 year long, in-house program. Our training truly is unique to us—over 40 years ago, Uncle Weldon taught Leonard and David everything he knew about carpet installation. Today, installers continue to learn Uncle Weldon’s techniques.
